Tina Birmingham was born and raised in Newfoundland and Labrador prior to moving to Halifax in 1997 to study architecture at Dalhousie University where she received her Masters in Architecture (M.Arch) in 2003.  Tina began her architectural career with award-winning firm Montgomery Sisam Architects in Toronto from 2000 to 2002 where she discovered a passion for innovative design in healthcare and seniors’ care environments.

Tina continued to build on her experience and expertise in this sector returning to Halifax in 2003 to work with national design leader Architecture49 at a time when the province was rolling out a high number of new and innovative solutions for housing an aging population. The breadth of Tina’s experience however includes a diversity of project types and experiences including healthcare, sport and recreation, education and public institution and commercial development.

In 2014, Tina returned home to Newfoundland to work with the newly acquired office of Architecture49 in St. John’s. In 2017, she joined Gibbons Snow Architects and went on to become a partner in 2019. Tina is a very welcome addition to the firm which has been leveraged to bring us to a new level of design excellence, service and client satisfaction.
